Cascata della Troggia // Introbio, Italy

Hidden in the hills outside the village of Introbio, about 30 min east of Varenna, is the Troggia Waterfall. Fed by the Trosa River, the fall starts at an altitude of 723 m ASL and drops just over 100 m below flowing through Bellano Gorge and ultimately Lake Como. Leondardo da Vinci visited the falls a long long time ago, they even mentioned them in his Codex Atlanticus of 1495. Snapped this shot from a look out we stumbled across when we were actually looking for the cascades at the bottom.
