Coastal spinifex, a grass that loves growing in sand, is extremely important to Australia’s coast lines, especially our beaches. It important because it binds and stabilises sand dunes, stops them from moving. I wanted to photograph the sand and surf through the grass, so I got down low on the sand dune for this one, getting myself quite sandy in the process mind you. Focussing on the grass helped blue the background and add depth to the shot.
